雷神氏族Thunderlord clan was an orc clan that existed for a very long time on Draenor. It remained behind during the first and second wars, however, when Ner'Zhul wanted to open new portals to other worlds, they eventually joined him. In the current day, the Thunderlord clan is mostly defunct, with most of its members having been transformed into fel orcs. The clan was known for its skilled hunters.[1]

The Thunderlord clan draws their name from an ancient chieftain who single-handedly slew a powerful gronn at the pinnacle of Thunder Peak.[2]

In the time of the Thunderlord's formation, just as the orcs began winning their freedom from the ogres, the ancient shaman were said to be granted their powers from powerful shamanstones. These stones granted the orcs with the blessings of frost and fire, which aided the Thunderlords in their liberation.[3]

Around this time, an orc by the name of Brakor wielded the legendary Gronnsbane. He blessed this mighty weapon with the shamanstones of frost and fire, and dipped its blade in the blood of one of the mighty and ancient black rylaks of the Stonefury Cliffs. It grew in power after that, and the Thunderlords began their liberation. The stones were left behind when the orcs fled their cruel enslavers.[3]

The Thunderlord clan made their home in Frostfire Ridge (which would later be merged with Gorgrond into the Blade's Edge Mountains) alongside their ancient rivals, the Frostwolf clan. The two clans had differing views on beasts: the Frostwolves valued wolves as family, whilst the Thunderlords thought of beasts as nothing more than creatures to break and tame. Due to this, the Thunderlords and Frostwolves clashed numerous times.

The clan was present when Ner'zhul announced the draenei as enemies of the orcs.[4] Later, the clan was present at Throne of Kil'jaeden when Gul'dan proposed to the orcs to drink the Blood of Mannoroth.[5]

At some point, the Thunderlord shaman Vorpil Ribcleaver became a warlock and joined the Shadow Council.

After the First War, the Thunderlord clan was said to maintain the last of the wolf-riding raiders (excepting those of the exiled Frostwolf clan). The Thunderlords were led by an orc named Fenris the Hunter, presumably also a raider. The Thunderlord clan represented some of the best mounted cavalry in any clan. They had strong connections to the Lightning's Blade clan and Blackrock clan; in fact, Orgrim Doomhammer initially rose to power as a member of this clan.[6][7] It is unclear how this is possible, however, as orc clans were very segregated and members avoided close contact or friendship with members of other clans before the formation of the first Horde.[8]

When Ner'zhul wanted to recreate the Horde, the Thunderlords refused, preferring to kill each other with the orc clans.[9] However, they eventually joined the Horde of Draenor alongside the Laughing Skull clan and the Bonechewer clan, leaving the Redwalker clan behind.[10]

Some Thunderlord warriors were sent by Gaz Soulripper to escort Teron Gorefiend alongside Fenris and Tagar Spinebreaker into Blackrock Mountain,[11] and later to the Tomb of Sargeras. When the artifacts were secured, Fenris left Malgrim Stormhand at the Dark Portal as he and the rest of the clan returned to Draenor.

Fenris was at some point succeeded as chieftain by Garm Wolfbrother, who was also eventually killed.

At some point, most of the clan was apparently transformed into fel orcs[12] through the blood of Mannoroth. They left their village of Thunderlord Stronghold behind,[13] after which the Bladespire clan of ogres claimed the village.[12]

Thunderlord Stronghold was taken from the Bladespire ogres by the Horde and now is a Horde-friendly town in the Blade's Edge Mountains. It is the remains of the Thunderlord clan's holdings, used as a base of operations by newcomer Horde forces. Although the guards are called Thunderlord Grunts they are not part of the Thunderlord clan.[请求来源]

Most of the clan appears to be wiped out, with quest lines focused on revenge on the ogres and with finding a way to heal the spirits of the dead. However, since the last chieftain of the clan, Garm Wolfbrother, was a mag'har orc, it is quite likely that there are more survivors of the clan among them.

Currently, the quest lines end when you are able to communicate with the ghosts of the dead.

Rexxar, Champion of the Horde, now resides in the stronghold since the reopening of the Dark Portal. He protects the base from any beasts and monstrosities that lurk within Blade's Edge. Rexxar eventually hopes to find more of his people, and perhaps make peace with his father Leoroxx, the chieftain of the Mok'Nathal clan.

The Thunderlords were the greatest big game hunters in all of Draenor. For centuries they used riding beasts and coordinated assaults to slay game and gronn alike.[2] The Thunderlords were the ones to slay the last of Draenor's earth giants, and they built their capital of Grom'gar in the corpse of the last and largest giant.[14] They also regarded Colossal's Fall, similarly built within the bones of an earth giant, to be a sacred location.[15]

The clan was known for possessing five powerful artifacts: the artifact, the drum, the arrow, the tablet and the great spear known as the Thunderspike. Only by possessing all five will the new owners of the Thunderlord Stronghold be accepted by the spirits.[12]

When the Bleeding Hollow clan returned, Fenris was immediately thrilled, believing that he would be able to return to Azeroth to finish the job that Doomhammer had been unable to. Ner'zhul, however, did not share that vision.[17] Unfortunately their clan leader decided to attempt to head into Azeroth and accomplish what the second war did not. Ner'zhul did not approve of this, and he slaughtered the entire Thunderlord clan.

When the Alliance attacked Draenor to retrieve the artifacts stolen by Ner'zhul, they found that the Laughing Skull clan had already stolen the Book of Medivh from Ner'zhul. In exchange for the book, the Alliance assisted the Laughing Skull clan in attacking the Thunderlord Clan.[18]
